Outreach Activities

Many researchers of CTTC have been involved in the organization of different outreach and dissemination activities open to the general public, whose objective is to approach knowledge about information and technology to the society. One of the main objectives is to try to raise the interest of young students in technology. In addition to this, CTTC researchers have also contributed in different articles in press and in dissemination journals, available for the general public. In the following the list of the described activities and contributions is given.

Science Week 2015

Participants: Charalampos Kalalas, Deep Shrestha, Achilleas Tsitsimelis (Research Assistant), Christos Kalialakis, Ramon Casellas (Senior Researchers) and Fco. Javier Vílchez (Researcher).

Topic : CTTC opened its doors in the context of the 20th Science Week held in Castelldefels and organized by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI –Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca I la Innovació). Researchers presented topics such Smart Grids, Visualizing the radiation and Optical Networks and Systems laboratory.

Participants: Albert Sitjà (Dir. of IPR & Corporate Development) , Lluis Blanco (Researcher).

Topic: In the international context of the MWC, CTTC presented a wide variety of products, solutions and CTTC showed recent developments.

The Ecole Superieure de Tunis (SUPCOM) visited de CTTC

Topic: Presentation  of the EXTREME Testbed ®, ADRENALINE Testbed ®, GEDOMIS®, Microwave Systems and Nanotechnologies lab. and RADAR demostration.

CTTC participated in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2015.

Participants: SMARTECH and M2M departments from Communication Technologies Division.

Topic: CTTC participated as an exhibitor in the last edition of the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC2015) that took place in Barcelona from the 17th to the 19th of November 2015. SMARTECH and M2M departments from Communication Technologies Division presented the new CTTC testbed for IoT: the IoTWORLD testbed. The stand (located in the Generalitat de Catalunya Pavilion) was visited by many companies and institutions related to the IoT ecosystem.

The CTTC, at the IoT Solutions World Congress

Participants: SMARTECH and M2M departments from Communication Technologies Division.

Topic: CTTC participated as an exhibitor in the last edition of the Internet of Things Solutions World Congress (IoTSWC2015) that took place in Barcelona from the 16th to the 18th of September 2015. SMARTECH and M2M departments from Communication Technologies Division presented the work done for industrial and competitive projects during the last year within the context of IoT. The stand (located in the Generalitat de Catalunya Pavilion) received many visitors interested in the progress of the CTTC in this field.

The CTTC was invited to participate at the new edition of “Saló de l’Ensenyament”
